2025 Elliott Denman NJ International Meet (06/22/2025)

Most competitive meet I have ever been to. Constantly hitting that 7m mark and delivering a seasonal best!

Another weekend with NLAC, this week we competed against a bunch of monster-level athletes in warm weather and some good wind. This was such an eye-opener to me. I am more determined to keep climbing and catch them up! To beat the monster, I first have to become one. And I’m on my way.

I appreciate my ability to hype myself up again after cooling down, which is an essential skill for elite athletes to perform when it matters. I also like my acceleration in this meet, which I learned from my teammate Hampton. His aggressive start on the runway really inspired me. Shout out to Hampton!

In this meet I fouled some pretty good jumps. This revealed my inconsistency. I tend to have a different rhythm in the warmup and the actual jumps. And this has to be fixed. Also, I noticed the lack of knee drive after the accel. Which harmed my takeoff and failed to project myself more vertically. These are the stuff I will be focusing on in the coming practice.
