Rutgers Relays (04/19/2025)

Outdoor Season Opener at my home turf. It was awkward to say home turf as I didn’t feel a sense of belonging to this track, but what's more, I felt exile and envy. I wish to deliver a great performance at this particular track just to prove I deserve something.

After dealing with knee pain for the whole indoor season, I finally felt ready for 6 full jumps thanks to Coach Robinson’s programs. Unlike my usual competition log, in which I put down my goals or what I try to focus on. “Just enjoy!” was the only thing on the sheet. I used a different approach to compete this time. Trying not to think too much, and just trusting what I have been built in practices. It worked. I delivered the most consistent series in my career, jumping over 7m for 3 jumps with some impressive fouls. I am looking forward to doing something big this season.

Technical-wise, I like my acceleration today, they are consistent and effective. But for the last 6 steps, my steps can be more condensed for some jumps, which will be my main focus in the upcoming practices. I want to add 2 more steps for my approach, but it will need to be discussed with coach, as I don’t think I can utilize the extra step well for now.

Overall, I enjoyed the meet today, the weather, the atmosphere, and the jumps were all great. Cannot wait for the next meet!
