Princeton Elite Invitational (05/17/2025)
Meet result:
I missed a meet 2 weeks ago because of misreading the schedule. I missed a great opportunity to compete with great jumpers in good weather. Luckily, after 2 weeks, the weather was also nice. It was sunny, warm, and with a nice tailwind. Most importantly, we had some very competitive athletes on the field!
This is the first time I used 20 total steps in a competition. I expect to jump further than 18 steps, as I am generating more speed. However, I had trouble transferring my extra speed into distance. I failed to do an effective takeoff to gain height. I will work on fixing the inconsistent cadence in the new approach, so I can get that quick last 2 steps like what I used to do.
Despite not being satisfied, I still managed to jump over 7 meters, which is a great accomplishment that is worth celebrating. This outdoor season, I am constantly in 7-meter shape, and I am ready for a big jump.
Next stop will be at the University of Toronto, where I am trying to find myself some international competition experiences as affordable as possible. I am excited to see my friends again and ready to jump far in front of them!
